Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a difficult period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time trainer his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This represents his maiden trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from spring of the previous year.
Victory also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children at once, so to get a trophy is particularly special," said tennis professional Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his last six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and regular reactions on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, supported by an improved serving game.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning 4 of the final five games to take the lead.
The pair traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first professional victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner clinched victory with a rally at the net area, with his opponent unable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
