I will overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
